1990s Production Floppy Disks (Akai Era)

1990s Production Floppy Disks (Akai Era)

This bundle of original 3.5” production floppy disks dates from the 1990 and contains working sound libraries created and used by Victor Simonelli in his own studio productions.

The disks were programmed for use with Akai sampler systems including the Akai S900, Akai S950, Akai S1000, and Akai S3000. During this period, Victor’s workflow was built around MIDI sequencing and hardware samplers, prior to the widespread adoption of computer-based DAWs. Sounds were sampled, edited, layered, and triggered directly from these machines, with programs and audio data stored on floppy disk.

The disks contain original sound libraries and programmed material used in the production of Victor Simonelli tracks including “Do You Feel Me,” “Feel So Right,” and “Do You Want Me Baby.” These are not third-party factory disks, but a working sound library created and archived by Victor during the making of his records.
