This is Don Blackman’s personal CD copy of Weldon Irvine’s The Best of Weldon Irvine Jr., a compilation of 1970s-era recordings from Irvine which was released on LP and CD in 1997 by the U.K.-based Cool Note Music. The CD contains eight tracks, including “Mr. Clean” (from 1972’s Liberated Brother), “We Gettin’ Down” (from 1975’s Spirit Man LP) and “Music is the Key” (from 1976’s Sinbad album), with the latter featuring Don Blackman himself on piano and lead vocals, in one of his earliest collaborations with Weldon Irvine.
